Mega Image opens two supermarkets this January

Newsroom 10/01/2012 | 10:51

After opening 35 new stores last year and bringing its national network to 105 units at the end of December 2011, Mega Image has announced plans to open two supermarkets this January. The first unit opens today in Bucharest close to the Grivita metro station and the second will be opened on January 28 in Pitesti.

In addition to supermarkets, the retailer also runs the Shop&Go proximity stores.

The Competition Council has approved at the end of last year the takeover of the G’market stores by Mega Image. Following this decision, the Belgian retailer turned the three existing G’market stores into Mega Image supermarkets.
