Carrefour Romania opens supermarket in Iasi

Carrefour Romania opened its first supermarket in Iasi, Eastern Romania, bringing its national network to 46 units.

The new supermarket covers 600 sqm and employs 45 people.

In addition to supermarkets, Carrefour also operates 25 hypermarkets and 3 Carrefour Express proximity stores locally.

Carrefour Romania saw its turnover reach EUR 1.1 billion in 2011, up 5.4 percent y-o-y. The turnover level is similar to the one reported in 2008 albeit the retailer has opened 30 more stores since.
