Starting today, Vodafone customers can pay via SMS access into seven subway stations in the Bucharest subway.

The first stations that allow this type of access are Victoriei Square, Universitate Square, Gara de Nord, Timpuri Noi, Politehnica, Grozavesti and Petrache Poenaru.

By sending an SMS to the number 7477 at a tariff of EUR 0.5 (VAT not included), users can pay for one subway ride. For two subway rides, the fee is EUR 0.9 (VAT not included). Clients can also pay for 10 trips by sending an SMS to the number 7490, for a fee of EUR 2.2 (VAT not included).

Once they have paid the trip by SMS, users can gain access into the station by calling the free of charge number 1700 and placing the phone (during the phone call) close to the devices at the entrance.
