Traffic will be restricted today in Bucharest between 14:00 and 19:00 on Kiseleff Blvd (between the Arch of Triumph and Victoriei Square) and on all adjacent streets as about 10,000 people are expected to rally in an anti-government protest.

The rally is organized by the Social Liberal Union (a political alliance made up of opposition liberals and social democrats).

Romanians are protesting countrywide demanding the resignation of President Traian Basescu and the Government, displeased with their anti-crisis policies.

Street demonstrations were sparked last week by the resignation of Dr. Raed Arafat from the position of deputy secretary of state in the Health Ministry. His reappointment to the same position this Tuesday was not enough to quiet protesters.
