Almost half of Romanians see their partner’s mobile phone as main danger for the relationship, rather than affairs, a survey conducted by E.ON and Kantar EMNID in ten European countries reveals.
Men and women in equal shares recall the same reason for tensions that appear in couples. Specifically, 45 percent of Romanians are jealous because their partner spends time using their phone and only 18 percent are jealous because they spend that time with friends, relatives and even having extramarital relationships, the study shows.
German participants to the survey, on the other hand, are more moderate. Only 32 percent of them said mobile phones are the main danger to their relationship.
In Italy, where 65 of participants to the survey said they are very jealous, jealousy in couples is spurred by affairs and less by mobile phone use. Here, only 16 percent of Italians see mobile phone use as a range to their relationship.
In Sweden, only 11 percent of respondents are worried about affairs and 16 percent are bothered by the time their partners spend using their smartphone.
The survey, “Living in Europe, 2018,” surveyed 10,000 people in Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, the Czech Republic, Romania, Sweden, Turkey and Hungary.
