The National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) has summoned the former head of the National Agency of Fiscal Administration (ANAF) for hearings in a case relating to Tel Drum. The corruption case relating to Tel Drum, a Romanian construction company, involves high profile names such as Social Democratic Party (PSD) Liviu Dragnea.
While Dragnea publicly denied that he has a link to Tel Drum. However, the former ANAF head Gelu Diaconu alleged that Dragnea was lying about his connection to the Tel Drum company.
The DNA prosecutors announced on 13 November 2017 that Dragnea was prosecuted for creating a criminal group, abuse of office and EU funds misappropriation. The alleged acts were committed during Dragnea’s term as president of the Teleorman County Council. The prosecutors seized over EUR 27 million on Liviu Dragnea’s assets in the Tel Drum file.
The assets include a 3,000 meters land, an apartment of 80 square meters, two cars and money.
