Government spokesman Nelu Barbu announced yesterday that Romania will receive 109 refugees of Syrian origin, who are currently in Turkey temporarily, between 2018 and 2019, following a governmental decision made in Thursday’s cabinet meeting.
“This decision is made in accordance to the relocation quota established through the decision of the Committee for relocating refugees in Romania,” said Barbu.
In 2018, 40 Syrian refugees will come to Romania from Turkey, and 69 will arrive in 2019.
