Romania hosted 73.663 groups of companies, out of which over 68,000 groups of multinational companies in 2015, mainly with headquarters in Germany, France and Italy, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
The biggest part of the groups of firms from Romania develop their activity in trade (20 percent), constructions (10 percent) or manufacturing industry (10 percent).
Compared with the share in the employees number, the majority of companies’ subgroups from Romania are owned by Germany, France and Italy.
The results of 2015 show that in the share of employees’ number, on the first place are the subgroups companies owned by individuals or companies from Germany (18 percent), on the second place are the companies owned by France (10.5 percent) and on the third place are the ones owned by Italy (10.5 percent).
According to the share in the employees number in the overall multinational companies controlled by foreign owners, the subgroups of the companies owned by Germans are in C section- manufacturing industry, in G section (bulk or retail), the cars and motors repair (2.6 percent) and K section ( financial intermediation and insurances- 1.8 percent) and A section- agriculture (1.1 percent).
Out of the subgroups of companies owned by France, 4 percent are C section- manufacturing industry, G section- bulk or retail, cars and moto repair.
