Kruk International, one of the leading debt collectors in Romania, is pushing forward with its educational campaign aimed at improving Romanian’s perception of debt. The “Datoria mea” campaign has already posted encouraging results and the debt collector has also established the “Debt Free Day” on November 17. In this day, people that are in debt receive assistance from debt collector on ways to make due payments.
“During our educational campaign we have been contacted by 50.000 persons and have signed over 7000 payment arrangements, totaling approximately RON 90 million”, stated Isabela Iacob, general director of Kruk International.
According to an internet survey, operated by IVox, an online surveyer, on 4959 respondents, around 40 percent borrow money up to 4 times a year, while 30 percent do this on a regular basis. The borrowing sources are family members – 42.4 percent, close friends – 28.6 percent, relatives – 14.6 percent, and banks with 10.7 percent. Over 50 percent of the survey respondents borrow sums between RON 400 and RON 3200, while 35 percent borrow sums under RON 400, while 13 percent need between RON 4000 – RON 8000.
The “Debt Free Day” has been first celebrated in Poland, in 2009, as an initiative of the Kruk Group, the leader of debt management in Poland.
