Arctic sees 30 percent increase in turnover

The total sales volume reached over 1.4 million units in 2006, out of which 741,000 were sold on the external market, a 60 percent increase compared to 2005. The products were sold in more than 35 countries in 2006.
“Europe continues to be an important area for sales of refrigerators produced at Gaesti, with 65 percent of the plant's output going to EU countries,” said Ugur Kayali, general director of Arctic.
According to the company's representatives, the investments it has made over the past four years reached EUR 35 million. In 2006, over EUR 10 million was invested in boosting production capacity, the opening of a logistics center, the launch of a new production line of horizontal refrigerators and the development of modern systems for production management.
The producer's market share grew to 31.7 percent. By its own reports, Arctic has a market share of 45.2 percent on the refrigerator segment, owns a market share of 18.8 percent on the gas grill segment and 20.6 percent on the washing machine segment.
Arctic is part of Arcelik group, the third largest European producer of home appliances. Arcelik is present on 100 markets worldwide. It owns 10 production units in three countries and has 15,000 employees. In 2006, the firm registered EUR 3.9 billion in turnover and a sales volume of over 10 million units.
