Sun Plaza is developed by EMCT and financed by Austrian-based company Sparkassen Immobilien, Erste Bank Group's real estate investment company.
The investment is estimated to reach EUR 150 million and the delivery time is set for the second part of October 2008.
Sun Plaza will be anchored by a Cora hypermarket with a sales area of 11,300 sqm, a bauMax DIY store on 12,300 sqm and a Mobexpert furniture store on 10,300 sqm.
In addition, around 170 stores on an area of around 25,000 sqm will include branded retailers. In Sun Plaza, bauMax DIY opens its first store in Bucharest.
According to Richard, Erste Group's involvement in the project will bring other Austrian retailers and shops to the mall. Sun Plaza's development projects also include a multiplex cinema called Cinema City, delivering 3,000 seats in 15 cinema halls.
EMCT Romania developed construction projects for retailers such as Carrefour, Cora, Bricostore, Media Galaxy, Mobexpert and bauMax.
The projects required total investments of EUR 210 million for 186,000 sqm of completed real estate projects. EUR 240 million will be invested in developing ongoing ones.
