One of the evening's attractions was the live auction, hosted by lawyer Bryan Jardine, TV personality Cabral and Aussie John Brian.
The highest sum of the evening – EUR 40,000 – was paid by businessman Dinu Patriciu for a python leather handbag donated by actress Uma Thurman. It was presented to her by the house of Bulgari for the celebrations marking Valentino's 45 years as a fashion designer. Bids for the bag started at EUR 2,200.
Patriciu was also a contender for the Angelina Jolie's Bvlgari 18 kt yellow gold sautoir necklace from the latest Parentesi collection, but lost the bid to Mru Patel, the manager of European Property Investment. With a starting price of EUR 3,000, the necklace was sold for EUR 20,000.
The world's most expensive perfume, No 1 Diam, created from the rarest, finest ingredients, which comes in a 1-ounce, handmade crystal bottle adorned with a sparkling brilliant-cut white diamond on the collar, was sold for EUR 7,000 to an anonymous bidder. Actor Ethan Hawke won a holiday at Carol Parc Hotel in Bucharest for EUR 2,500.
The proceeds of the charity ball will go to the OvidiuRom foundation, started by Leslie Hawke, who also organized the ball.
