The effort brought together representatives of the DHL management team and the company's employees as well as its partners in environmental protection such as Altex, Transport Service Group, Alandick Romania and Unirea Medical Center, and representatives of the Sector 1 Administration of the Public Domain. This was the second step of the company's program “For a Greener Bucharest.” By 2013, it aims to have planted 10 hectares of forest to absorb and thus compensate for the carbon dioxide emissions resulting from its operations. The program “For a Greener Bucharest” was initiated in April when the first step was to plant 25 rare species of trees in the capital's Botanical Garden. The action brought together volunteers within the company, the entire DHL management team, as well as the staff of the Botanical Garden. DHL will monitor all the areas in which it has already planted trees and will try to attract new volunteers and partners in these actions.
