The works of Dewint stand out through color and graphic inventions. Each engraving resembles “fireworks which bear images which are not necessarily positive but distinguish themselves through the vivacity, density, multiplicity and rarity of colors which exclude the black and white classical variant,” according to a press release from the organizers.
Dewint was born in Brussels in 1942 and is a teacher at the Fine Arts Academy in Brussels. So far he has participated in 600 exhibitions and his works can be found in public collections in cultural institutions such as San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Miami Metropolitan Museum & Art Center, Kyoto University for Arts and Musees Royaux from Belgium.
