The retail park will be anchored by Carrefour, on 12,500 sqm, by a do-it-yourself Bricostore unit on 9,800 sqm, a 3,500-sqm Media Galaxy, a Staer furniture store on 5,000 sqm and a 3,000-sqm Cinema City cinema operator.
The first phase of the park, to include the Carrefour store, will be completed and opened to the public in September this year. The rest of the shopping galleria will be opened in December.
European Retail Park Focsani will be located north of the city, close to its ringroad. The developers expect to attract customers from neighboring towns as well.
Flemish Bel Rom Real Estate has already opened two retail parks in Romania, one in Sibiu in 2006 and one in Targu Mures last year. The developer has announced plans to build ten such retail parks and malls across Romania, in cities such as Bacau, Deva, Ramnicu Valcea, Braila and Bucharest, in the Colentina area. Bel Rom has already opened the first phase of the Braila project, which also includes a Carrefour unit.
The firm recently sold its Targu Mures retail park to French AEW Europe/Ixis's PBW II Real Estate investment fund, in a transaction worth around EUR 90 million.
