UNICEF raises $440,000 for new mothers

This is the first step in encouraging mothers to exclusively breastfeed in the first six months after birth.
The proceeds will be used for training hospital staff in educating mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding, ensuring beds for mothers and newborn children for the rooming-in system, as well as the necessary equipment for keeping infants under surveillance. The campaign took off with a gala broadcast on the national public channel. The Friends of Children's Hospital Initiative was launched by UNICEF in 1991.
