Vodafone Foundation celebrates ten years

The foundation has contributed EUR 240,000 to the project as well as 300 volunteers, employees of Vodafone Romania, who will help build the houses in a record six days between June 23 and 28.
Ten years into its existence, the Vodafone Foundation has so far contributed to 300 social programs that were carried out to the benefit of children, the elderly, people with disabilities and victims of natural disasters. The projects were carried out in partnership with 250 NGOs. The foundation has invested more than EUR 4 million over ten years.
“In the two years I have spent so far in Romania I have seen an increase in the number of projects ran by non-governmental foundations such as the Vodafone Foundation. I am confident that more and more international and Romanian companies will take their corporate social responsibilities seriously,” said Robin Barnett, the British Ambassador to Romania. The Vodafone Foundation came into existence in Romania, in 1998 (before Connex became Vodafone) under the name Sirois Foundation.
