The former New York City mayor said the “last thing in the world you would wish for is a city without traffic. Traffic means that people work, that they have activity. Believe me, I would be much more worried if I went to a city and I saw that it had no traffic, because that would mean there was no economy.”
Giuliani said cities like New York and Los Angeles also had bad traffic. “I saw such problems in India but also in London – in all the cities that are developing there are problems of this type when the economy is going well,” he said.
The two officials also discussed the world economic crisis and the way it affects all the big cities of the world. Oprescu was invited by the former New York mayor to go to New York and see the city.
