Murielle Lorilloux, CEO Vodafone and UPC Romania, stated: “It has been a very dynamic quarter for us, but also for the Romanian telecom market. At an industry level, we have witnessed an increasing interest towards the digitization of the society. For Vodafone Romania, the last couple of months have been filled with rewarding activities, as we embarked on an exciting journey together with our new UPC colleagues. We have been starting to work closely together and we strived to give something back to the Vodafone and UPC customers as soon as possible. In only a few weeks’ time, we have managed to launch the first fixed-mobile offers, thus enabling cross-benefits for all our customers. This transaction is very important for us, as it enables us to do continue doing what we do best: bring innovation and offer best in class products and services for our customers. We will continue to build on our new capabilities, leverage on the new convergence opportunities by taking the best from both Vodafone and UPC, and offer even more and better benefits for the all Romanian telecom users.
Vodafone has also focused its investments towards the network capabilities to maintain market leadership. Furthermore, we have launched next-generation mobile technologies, being, once again, the first operator in the Romanian market, and one of the very first in the world, to offer 5G commercial services, in several counties since May 2019.
We have many plans for the period to come, as we are ready to bring even more innovation and enhanced technologies with the main purpose of supporting the digitization of Romania.”
