New entertainment and sound devices from Sony at IFA 2018

At the IFA consumer electronics fair in Berlin, Germany, Sony will present the new product range incorporating the latest technology. From new Bravia TV sets to Xperia XZ 3 and waterproof noise-cancellation headphones.

At Sony’s press conference on Thursday, before the official opening of IFA, Kenichiro Yoshida, President and CEO of Sony Corporation, reinforced the fact that Sony will increase the involvement of creators and users in an approach to “more people.”

He added “our electronic products play the vital role of linking creators of amazing audio and video content with users who enjoy this content. In addition to rendering reality through high-fidelity audio technologies and video technologies high resolution, I think it’s important that at the same time, Sony provide real-time value. “In real time,” it describes the moment we live in.” Ichiro Takagi, Senior Executive Vice President of Home Entertainment & Sound, said: “With the best images and sounds, we want to play back the content of creators and give our users the ultimate audio-visual experience.”

He then presented Sony’s news in TV and audio segments. In conclusion, Mitsuya Kishida, President of Sony Mobile Communications Inc. introduced the new Xperia smartphone and said “Sony Mobile is leading the way with the Sony 5G initiative with mobile networking technologies that bring creators and users closer than ever, delivering the content exactly as the creators conceived it.”

Sony introduced the WH-1000XM3, the newest member of the 1000X family of noise canceling headphones. This new model brings important improvements to Noise Cancellation with the new QN1 Noise Cancelling HD processor that boosts performance four times. This innovative component repels sound pollution better than precursor processors and also cancel generic background noises such as street noise and people’s voices. Including the amplifier in the QN1 HD Noise Cancelling HD processor delivers amazing sound quality. Also in the category of wireless headphones, Sony introduced the WF-SP900 without cables. The WF-SP900 waterproof and dust headphones have internal memory, allowing users to play music from the smartphone via Bluetooth® or even without another device, even when swiming in the ocean.

Signature Series is the pinnacle of the most advanced Sony technologies built for sound excellence. The audio product line brings music to life, as creators of content wanted. In this product category, Sony introduced the DMP-Z1 digital music player and the IER-Z1R stereo in-ear headphones. The DMP-Z1 uses an analog amplifier and a single independent power system to deliver the best possible sound. The IER-Z1R provides a frequency response of up to 100 kHz to achieve an unprecedented level of immersion.

Sony will also launch the IER-M9 and IER-M7 in-ear headphones in the US and Asia in the first phase, starting this autumn. The headphones offer sound quality, a level of isolation and the comfort that artists are looking for during live shows.

Bravia Master

In the TV segment, Sony has announced the launch of the BRAVIA MASTER series in Europe since September, which reproduces the content as its creators intended to transmit. The AF9 4K OLED and ZF9 4K LCDs come equipped with an X1 Ultimate image processor that incorporates almost double the real-time processing power compared to the current models. New TVs feature the best display features available on OLED and LCD.

The AF9 Series is equipped with the Pixel Contrast Booster, which offers an enriched visual experience thanks to the intense intense blackness and the enhanced viewing angle. Acoustic Surface Audio + technology generates a new level of immersion by adding an actuator to the center of the screen and TV Center Speaker Mode makes the sound can be received from the center of the TV.

In IFA, Sony will host a demonstration with AV devices with voice assistant, which can play music, provide weather news and other information, while also controlling IoT devices such as room lights.

The demonstration will also feature the WH-1000XM3 wireless headset with noise canceling function, BRAVIA with built-in microphone, voice search, SRS-XB501G smart speaker series with EXTRA BASS and built-in Google Assistant, soundbar- HT-ZF9 compatible with Amazon Alexa and more. The wide range of Sony Voice Assist devices will be highlighted in a series of indoor and outdoor scenarios.
