LG launches G8 with the new sound technology Crystal Sound OLED at MWC 2019

LG Electronics plans to release the new LG G8 ThinQ phone with Crystal Sound OLED at MWC 2019 in Barcelona, an innovative technology that uses the OLED screen of the phone as an audio amplifier.

As more and more consumers use their smartphone as the main device watching movies, playing and listening to music, the demand for mobile phones capable of delivering high-quality sound is greater than ever. LG has always recognized the importance of high-quality sound on the smartphone in creating an impressive user experience, and this conviction continues with the launch of the new LG G8 ThinQ.

Designed at LG, CSO technology redefines the OLED screen as a diaphragm that vibrates on its entire surface to produce an impressive volume sound. And as LG’s unique technology takes full advantage of the screen, the CSO also improves clarity, making voices easier to distinguish, and subtle musical notes being easier to perceive.

In speaker mode, the sound offered has an impressive bass thanks to the lower speaker. Full and balanced stereo performance is possible, the two-channel audio system using this lower speaker and the top of the screen. In addition to improving sound quality, CSO technology gives the LG G8 ThinQ and a minimalist clean look.

• The Quad DAC Hi-Fi Converter enhances audio experience by reproducing sound with exceptional fidelity and adding the ability to reduce compression of most types of audio files for greater clarity and depth;
• Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) support for high-quality audio streaming even without an unlimited data plan;
