Getac announced today that the Getac ZX70 extreme working Android tablet will be used by Leica Geosystems as the hardware for the new Leica Zeno GG04 Plus solution. The partnership allows Leica Geosystems to provide its customers with precision in geospatial data collection and increased durability so that the device can be used on any terrain and under difficult weather conditions. The new Leica Zeno GG04 is perfect for professionals in various fields of activity: utilities, public services, transport and construction.

For nearly 200 years, Leica Geosystems offers professional measurement and data analysis solutions, being recognized as the highest-quality device provider. Recently, the company has developed a new range of software and hardware applications, including the Zeno Mobile Data Collection application and the intelligent Zeno GG04 Plus antenna. Both have been designed to help customers perform data collection tasks accurately, quickly and efficiently. By combining it with the Getac ZX70 Android tablet, Leica Geosystems has created a complete package that delivers both high quality precision in data collection and increased connectivity and durability.

“Getac ZX70 is the missing piece of work we needed to provide our customers with a complete measurement solution,” said Alexander Fischer, Senior Product Manager for Asset Collection & Management, Leica Geosystems. “The Getac tablet is the perfect partner for our Zeno Mobile software and GG04 Plus smart antenna due to its extreme durability and user-friendliness, but also due to a powerful Android operating system and extensive connectivity. Our customers can rely on the fact that this complete solution will give them the best performance regardless of the environment or weather conditions they are facing.”

Mobile data capture and easy integration with Leica Zeno Mobile

Compact and durable, the fully robust Getac ZX70 Android tablet is easy to handle and used with one hand, making it ideal for demanding work on the ground. The Android operating system it uses is ideal for Leica Zeno Mobile software. It allows the determination of positions based on GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) with high precision and the easy collection of features derived from field data. Also, any authorized Android app can be installed on this device based on the required workflow or back-office systems used.

Other key features to measure and analyze field data include: 7 inch IPS display, readable even in direct sunlight and the LumiBond 2.0 touchscreen system that allows the tablet to run in rain and when using gloves . The integrated 4G modem of the Getac ZX70 tablet can easily and quickly send large files even from isolated locations. The fast, stable, secure data connection enables users to make effective use of the Hexagon Geosystems’ HxGN SmartNet correction service, which allows accurate GNSS determination of up to one centimeter.

Furthermore, Getac offers full warranty, including accidental damage, which means that Leica users can purchase the new Zeno GG04 Plus tablet solution with the confidence that they have full protection through the investment they have made.

“The ZX70 offers the best durability, connectivity and usability. The design of the tablet allows it to withstand electrical shocks, drops, rain, vibrations and much more, making it the perfect hardware solution for Zeno Mobile software, considered the industry’s best, but also Smart Antenna,” says Amanda Ward, director, EMEA Product and Solutions at Getac. “In the past, measuring ribbons were used to divide a field so that the surface could be set. However, this solution has not proven to be either reliable or accurate. The new device resulting from the combination of the Getac ZX70 with the Leica Zeno Mobile software and the intelligent GG04 antenna offers a solution both to field teams and back-office teams to save time. At the same time, the high precision of GNSS helps to increase the validity of data sets and reduces the risk of errors.”

Getac Technology Corporation is one of the major subsidiaries of MiTAC-Synnex Business Group (with consolidated revenue of USD 34.07 billion in 2017). Getac was established in 1989 following the signing of a joint venture with GE Aerospace for the delivery of electronic products dedicated to the defense industry. Today, Getac Technology Corporation produces ultra-durable notebooks and tablets, along with mobile video solutions for customers in many areas: military, public safety, utilities, production, transport and logistics. Getac has advanced research and development capabilities that enable it to offer all the necessary hardware and software integration solutions.
