Huawei opens a Center for Cyber Security Transparency in Bruxelles

Huawei opened its Center for Cyber Security Transparency in Brussels, over 200 representatives of regulators, telecom operators, companies and the media were present at the event. Representatives of the European Union, the GSMA and the World Economic Forum spoke at the inauguration ceremony.

In the area of cyber security, trust is a major challenge for the world in the digital age. Ken Hu, Vice President of Huawei, said: “Trust must be based on facts, facts must be verifiable, and verification must be based on common standards. We believe that this model is effective in building confidence in the digital era.”

Innovations in All Cloud, Information Services and Software-Defined Systems bring new cyber security challenges to ICT infrastructure. These challenges are exacerbated by the lack of consensus on cyber security, technical standards, verification systems and legislative support. Ensuring cyber security is considered to be the responsibility of all market players and society as a whole. Security risks are rising and threaten the future of digital society.

To meet these challenges, Huawei inaugurated a Cyber Security Transparency Center in Brussels, proposing to provide government agencies, technical experts, industry associations and standards organizations with a platform to communicate and collaborate to find the balance between development and security in the digital age.

Built in Europe, the Cyber Security Transparency Center has three major functions.

First, the Center will expose Huawei’s end-to-end cyber security practices, strategies and the supply chain to research and development, products and solutions. This will allow visitors to experience cyber security in Huawei’s products and solutions in areas such as 5G, IoT and cloud.

Secondly, the Center will facilitate communication between Huawei and cyber security stakeholders, as well as end-to-end personal data protection and cyber-security practices. Huawei will work with industry partners to explore and promote the development of security standards and verification mechanisms to support cyber security technology innovations across the industry.

Third, the Center will provide a product security testing and verification platform, as well as related services for Huawei customers.

The inauguration of the Cyber Security Transparency Center in Brussels demonstrates Huawei’s strong commitment to governments, customers and other European partners, and will provide better support for collaboration.
