Black Friday is coming; you should start keeping an eye on the products you want to buy

Black Friday is a little over one month away and the shops are preparing already for the biggest discount event of the year. November is the month when customers expect the best prices for different products, mainly electronics, with discounts of 55 – 70 percent and even 90 percent.

The mobile phones are usually the stars of the sales, but television sets are competing for the hottest device on customer preferences. The advance that technology took on tv imagery, with 4K resolution, combined with smart capabilities convinces the customers to look for better devices in order to replace the old ones. This means that we shall see again good offers for television sets.

Black Friday is expected to start on November 16 at eMag and going for only one day in order to have time to deliver. Last year, Iulian Stanciu, emag CEO, explained that it is better to have the event earlier in the month in order to cover all deliveries before December, when other sales events come into place.

Fashion Days, the online clothes seller that belong to the same company as eMag, Naspers, will probably have the event on the November 23-25 weekend. Just as the most online retailers will have, those that have a limited offer compared to the big shops.

Altex and Media Galaxy might keep again the event for the entire month of November, with renewed offer every week. Dan Ostahie, Altex CEO, vision on the biggest sales event is that people should have time to compare offers and choose what is best for them without the pressure of time.

Just like we got used in the last years, in the sales event there will not be only electronic devices and household appliances. Furniture, cars, holiday trips, gold bars and jewelry – all will be on sale for Black Friday.  But these are for those who keep some money just in case they find something worth buying even if they don’t need it. The most of the customers are shaping their needs and expectations for the event and postpone the purchasing of a phone, a laptop, a tv or a fridge just to tap into the offers.

The stars for this year should be Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9, iPhone Xs, Huawei P20 Pro. And other model, depending on how low the makers are willing to go on the prices.

For the tv sets the last year models of Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic and others will be the most searched for by customers. For laptops, the brands wanted are Lenovo, Asus, HP, Acer and even Dell (although the latter is not to keen lately to jump on the discount wagon for retail customers).

Anyway, the event that gives 55 to 70 percent discount on some products is on the way. Even 90 percent for a few hot-products will be advertise in order to get the attention of the customers. It is worth remembering that the Competition Council (CC) announced that the shops are not complying with the law when they show discounts based on higher prices than usual. The law states that the discount should be calculated from the lowest price in the last 30 days, but CC discovered that 80 percent of the products sold did not comply with the rule. Also, CC found that 29 percent of the sales announced had bigger prices than the lowest in the last 30 days.

The buyer should be aware of that and should keep a close look on the products he wants in order not to be fooled by false discounts.
