The new Ford EcoSport production began Thursday at Ford’s factory in Craiova, following an investment of EUR 200 million that will create 1,700 new jobs.
Romania’s president, Klaus Iohannis and PM Mihai Tudose attended the launch. Before the event, the two talked about the infrastructure that links Craiova to the rest of the country.
“The ensurance of a quality infrastructure is important for reducing the big regional gaps, the transport infrastructure should be priority number zero to any Government,” stated president Iohannis at the Ford event.
The PM assured the president that the works procedures will begin in a few days and that its effects will soon be visible.
“We’re not only making infrastructure for the company, but for the entire Romania. Today we can tell that we are on schedule with the infrastructure that links Craiova to the rest of the country. This week or next week there will be an assignment of construction works,” said the PM at the same event.
EcoSport’s production replaces the one of the B-MAX model in Craiova.
