The number of constructions permits for residential building in Romania increased by 7.6 percent year-on-year in the first seven months of this year, to 24,950, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
In July, the number of residential building permits rose by 3.5 percent compared with July 2017.
Compared with June, the number of residential building permits rose by 4.7 percent in the seventh month of this year.
Of the total number of permits issued in July, 59.6 percent were for the rural area.
In January-July, official data show an increase in Romania’s seven out of eight regions: Vest (412 permits), Sud-Muntenia (411), Sud‐Vest Oltenia (385), Bucuresti-Ilfov (252), Nord-Vest (149), Centru (114) and Sud-Est (73). The Nord-Est region was the only region to post a small decline (-36 permits).
In 2017, the number of permits had increased by 7.6 percent from 2016, reaching 41,603 in total. In 2016, the number had decreased by 1.2 percent from the previous year.
