Shopping City Targu Mures to open in March 2020

NEPI Rockcastle, has announced the date of inauguration for the newest shopping center in its portfolio, Shopping City Targu-Mures, in March 2020.

Following an investment of EUR 70 million, the largest of the last period in Mures county, Romanians from the north of the country will enjoy a premium shopping and leisure experience in Targu-Mures, on Calea Sighisoarei.

“This project is one of the most important on the agenda for next year, with the opening deadline, the quality and safety standards as priorities. We want to offer Romanians in the north of the country a commercial center that responds to the highest demands, a policy that guides all the projects we develop. Together with various shopping and leisure options, Shopping City Targu Mures will also bring new jobs, contributing to the economic development of the northern region,” said Alin Burlacu, Leasing Manager at NEPI Rockcastle.

Over 75 percent of the mall area has already been leased, and negotiations for the rest of the spaces will be completed shortly, according to the company.

The new mall will be built on a plot of 12.5 hectares and have a rentable area of ​​40,000 square meters. It will host international and national clothing, footwear, accessories, beauty, sports and children’s brands. More than 50 percent of the stores to be opened in the mall will be a novelty for the region. In fact, over 60 percent of the area of ​​the new mall will be occupied by anchor shops.

Another novelty that Shopping City Targu Mures brings is the new design of the food court, which will transpose the concept of food hall, a trend at the European level. Visitors will enjoy an extensive offer of local and international cuisines, provided by premium gourmet brands, both from the region and from other countries. The mall will also feature a multiplex cinema, a 500 sqm playground, a 10,000-sqm Carrefour Hypermarket and a parking lot for 1,500 cars.

The project will be completed with a roof garden of approximately 3,500 sqm which will serve 4 restaurants and provide a unique panorama over the historical area of ​​the city.

In parallel with the construction of the shopping center, the developer has also started work to streamline traffic from the most important area of ​​the city and increase traffic safety by building new roundabouts on the main boulevards adjacent to the NEPI Rockcastle project.
