After an EUR 40 million investment, NEPI Rockcastle opened the Shopping City Satu Mare mall, which hosts 85 commercial spaces, including the opening of the first Carrefour hypermarket in the city on an area of 7,500 square meters.

The project also has a positive impact on the community, generating more than 900 permanent jobs after opening.

“Shopping City Satu Mare is the 18th commercial center of NEPI Rockcastle’s portfolio in Romania, a figure that supports the fact that we are the most active real estate investor in the country. We have developed this project based on the needs of the inhabitants of the entire region and created a mix of shops, restaurants and leisure options, which we believe will change their lifestyle,” says Marius Barbu, head of Asset NEPI Rockcastle Management.

Shopping City Satu Mare has 2 levels and has a total rentable area of approximately 29,000 sqm. The project meets visitors with 1,000 parking spaces, of which 600 are at the upper level, accessible by an outside ramp. Customers will also have 2 electric charge stations and a bus stop in front of the shopping center.

A Cineplexx cinema

Level 1, dedicated to the food court and entertainment areas, is complemented by an outdoor terrace, which will be connected in the future to the promenade area and the Old Center via a bridge over the Somes River.

Also at the upper level, in the early part of the next year, the cinematic multiplex Cineplexx will be opened.
