Jan Zahumensky appointed as Mars‘ new CFO for Central Europe

Mars, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of confectionery, food and pet food, appoints Jan Záhumenský as the new CFO for Central Europe as of September 1, 2020. After 5 years spent in the position of CFO of the Austrian branch of Mars Multisales Austria, he is moving to Prague where he will be responsible for financial management for the four countries included in the Central Europe region, namely Romania, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The current CFO for Central Europe, Yesim Ozer, was given the chance to move to a new area during her career in Mars after three successful years and was appointed Market Director for the Baltic States.

Jan Záhumenský brings to the new position a rich experience, which he gained during his work at Mars in several roles in the finance department. Since 2013, he has worked as a financial manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia. At the beginning of 2015, he was given the opportunity to gain new work experience at Mars in Austria, where he held the position of financial manager or financial controller in the local finance department. In 2018 he was promoted to CFO for Mars Multisales Austria. In this position, he led the company’s financial operations in the Austrian market, including sales, revenue and profitability management. At the same time, he was in charge of creating strong control mechanisms throughout the company.
