DONA recruits senior European pharmaceutical executive Thomas Hofmann as Chief Marketing & Digital Officer

DONA pharmacy chain is strengthening its top management team by appointing Thomas Hofmann in the Management Committee. As Chief Marketing & Digital Officer, he will drive the marketing strategy and will coordinate the communication, branding and digital activities, in line with the business objectives. Thomas Hofmann led Alphega network of independent pharmacies in Germany for five years

Thomas Hofmann has over 25 years of experience in senior positions in renowned companies (Renault, Volkswagen, Intel, McDonald’s) and in international advertising agencies (BBDO, HAVAS), and has dedicated the last ten years to the online and offline retail industry. Between 2009 and 2014, Thomas Hofmann led the independent network of Alphega pharmacies in Germany as Managing Director, while holding a key position in coordinating marketing operations across Europe for the same network managed by the Walgreens Boots Alliance (Frankfurt / London).

“I have always been passionate about brands, but I feel particularly attached to healthcare. DONA is a challenge for me, taking into account the strong DNA of the brand, the development potential and the very dynamic and competitive market in the local pharmaceutical retail. But what truly convinced me to accept the new role was the professional and very ambitious team here.
