Wages of Polish MPs cut by 20 percent

Poland’s parliament, which is dominated by the nationalist-minded, eurosceptic Law and Justice (PiS) party, passed a bill designed to cut the wages of MPs by 20 percent.

The bill will cut MPs’ remuneration from the present level of 10,000 zloty (USD 2,802) per month after former prime minister Beata Szydlo last year decided to pay herself and her cabinet ministers bonuses worth more than 10 average monthly salaries, according to Reuters.

The bill was approved with 240 votes, while the main opposition parties abstained, reported the local media.
