Vodafone Romania has teamed up with Citibank in creating a new co-branded credit card called Citi Vodafone Plus that will be available for customers starting this November. Previously, the telecoms operator joined Raiffeisen Bank in issuing a credit card.
Vodafone users will be able to order this new card starting November and will receive an initial bonus of 500 loyalty points, once the card is issued. For every RON 10 that are spent with this card, another 8 loyalty points will be added to the account. Card holders may benefit from discounts up to 50 percent in the Citi Partner network that is made up of 1200 commercial outlets (hotels, restaurants, stores, fitness centers). The network will extend to 2000 by the end of this year. The bonus points will also allow users to buy telecom services and accessories from Vodafone.
The payments are contactless, meaning that the card holder will not have to remove the card from the wallet.
In addition, card holders will also have free entrance to the most important museums in Romania, including the Peles Castel and the Village Museum.
The Citi Vodafone plus has advanced security features, including Chip & PIN and Visa 3D Secure. Eligible clients need to have a minimum monthly salary of RON 1500 and must have a subscription to Vodafone. The credit limit ranges between RON 2000 and RON 75000, with a cash interest rate of 27.99 percent. The grace period is 54 days.
