Vitalis Consulting ends 2016 with 25 percent year-on-year increase

Vitalis Consulting, specializing in project and cost management for the construction industry, estimates a turnover of EUR 2.5 million for 2016, representing a 25 percent year-on-year growth. In 2016, 10 years after its launch, the company worked on more than 50 projects in Romania and UK, with a total surface of over one million square meters and an overall value exceeding EUR 650 million.

In 2016 Vitalis Consulting has been involved in the construction of offices and shopping centers projects covering over 200,000 square meters, among which Globalworth Tower (58,262 sq m), The Landmark (26,500 sq m), The Bridge – Phase 1 (approximately 50,000 sq. m), 4B Gara Herastrau (approx. 16,200 sq m). Vitalis provided project management services for the restoration and reconstruction of Mercur Shopping Center in Craiova, completed in June 2016, and for Bistrita Retail Park, whose construction is under way.

Four hotels totaling 1,300 rooms, in Romania and the UK

This year, Vitalis completed works on three hotels in London, UK, for its client, Red Sea Group, totalling over 1,100 rooms: Riverbank Park Plaza Hotel (394 rooms) and Hercules House Park Plaza Hotel (494 rooms) delivered in April 2016 and Club A40 (220 rooms), delivered in July 2016.

Locally, the company is involved in the construction of Hilton Garden Inn in Bucharest (201 rooms), for which Vitalis provides project and cost management and site inspector services.

In 2014-2015, Vitalis Consulting has been involved in the delivery of the other two 4-star hotels affiliated to international chains: first Mercure hotel opened in Bucharest, part of AccorHotels network, and Ramada Plaza in Craiova.

Hotel and commercial segment – office and retail respectively – have made a significant contribution to the growth of Vitalis Consulting this year. In 2016, we delivered three premium hotels in London, cumulating over 1,100 rooms and we are involved in building the newest 4-star hotel in Bucharest, Hilton Garden Inn. We also work to deliver over 200,000 sq m of offices and shopping centers in large projects such as Globalworth Tower, The Landmark, The Bridge – Phase 1 and Bistrita Retail Park. We anticipate that in 2017 we will further strengthen our position in the hotel sector, in line with the sustainable demand registered on the tourism market in Romania and beyond,” said Florin Popa, Founder and Managing Partner Vitalis Consulting.

Restoration of Bran castle and other heritage buildings

Vitalis Consulting has been appointed by “Compania de Administrare a Domeniului Bran” to coordinate the facade restoration of Bran Castle and annex building – Queen Mary Tea House – which became a cafeteria this year. Bran Castle facade works are in progress, while the Tea House was completed in August 2016. The company provides project management and site inspection services for the two historic monuments.

Vitalis also was also in charge for the reconstruction and restoration of a monument building in central Bucharest – a 6-storey historical building situated on Campineanu St., near the University Square. The property of 5,000 square meters was transformed into a mixed-use development, hosting commercial spaces and offices and completed in March 2016. Vitalis offered its beneficiary – Elmec Romania – project and cost management, occupational health and safety and site inspector services.

Residential: more than 1,000 apartments and villas in Bucharest and Ilfov

On the residential segment, Vitalis Consulting provides project management and project monitoring for more than 1,000 units under construction. The projects include the construction of 17 residential buildings in Greenfield Residence, 4 buildings of 11 floors with 374 apartments in the Citta Residential Park, developed by Nusco Grup, 34 villas totalling approximately 6,000 sq m in Pipera Residential Compound, 3 blocks 15,000 sq m within Cosmopolis district, developed by Opus Land Development.

Vitalis Consulting was involved in the construction of Globalworth Tower, the second tallest building in the country, with an area of 58.262 sq m. Globalworth Tower received the LEED Platinum certification, thus becoming the first building in Romania and the wider SEE region to receive the highest accreditation available for green buildings.

Vitalis oversaw the restoration of Moldova Center. Following the modernization, the property has been awarded a BREEAM Very Good certification. Vitalis Consulting is in the process of obtaining the LEED certification for Wilo Romania, a mixed-use development under construction, for which the company also provides project and cost management services.

Vitalis Consulting is a Certified Energy Auditor. Over the course of its activity, the company obtained Energy Performance Certificates for more than 50 real estate developments with an area of 1,500,000 square meters: office buildings and shopping centers, apartment compounds and villas, industrial projects, schools etc. 70 percent of the certified properties belong to Class A – high energy efficiency – the difference fall into Class B.
