After acquiring local agricultural equipment dealer Agroexpert last year, US based Titan Machinery estimates that in its first year of activity on the Romanian market it will report a turnover of more than USD 10 million, informs Mediafax. Romania is the first foreign market where the American agricultural and construction equipment dealer expands.

The company mainly targets local farmers that cultivate more than 400ha of land.

“We chose Romania because the production and the soil here are very similar with the ones in North Dakota. We estimate total sales of over USD 10 million this year in Romania,” said Peter Christianson, president of Titan Machinery according to Mediafax.

Titan Machinery owns 70 percent of Titan Machinery Romania, former Agroexpert. The other shareholders are two individuals – Erich Urban (20 percent) and Radu Lupu (10 percent). The company runs two outlets in Romania, in Bucharest and Timisoara, and intends to develop a national network of dealerships. Titan Machinery acquired Agroexpert in November 2011. The company had a turnover of USD 14 million in 2010.

Based in West Fargo, North Dakota, Titan Machinery runs 91 service and dealership offices in the US. It sells several CNH brands (subsidiary of Fiat Industrial) including Case IH, New Holland Agriculture, Case Construction, New Holland Construction, Kobelco and CNH Capital. The company also sells construction equipment.
