UniCredit has achieved a volume of loans granted of EUR 400 million, to a total of EUR 5.84 billion and an EUR 60 million consolidated profit in Romania in the first half of the year, up 27% compared to the similar period of 2017, mainly due to the increase in interest income.
The group is active in Romania through UniCredit Bank, UniCredit Consumer Financing, UniCredit Leasing Corporation, UniCredit Insurance Broker, UniCredit Leasing Fleet Management and UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions.
The bank recorded an interest income of EUR 123 millio in Romania after the first six months, up 17.5 percent from 105 million euros in the first half of last year. Tax and commission revenues declined by 18.7 percent to EUR 34 million, as well as transaction revenue, which fell 21.5 percent from EUR 39 million to EUR 31 million.
Operating profit slightly increased from EUR 186 million to EUR 190 million.
The volume of loans granted by UniCredit in Romania increased to EUR 5.84 billion, while deposits advanced by 18.5 percent to EUR 5.86 billion, exceeding the balance of loans
At international level, Group revenue declined by 2.5 percent to EUR 10.06 billion, while the balance of non-performing loans declined by 19.3 percent, from EUR 53 billion to EUR 43 billion.
