Tourism Minister Mircea Titus Dobre said on Tuesday that websites of online tourism agencies that do not have a license and of those who put up accommodation offers for units that are not classified will be suspended.
We are in advanced talks with the National Authority for Consumer Protection, the minister said, adding that the body has the right to suspend websites.
Dobre also said that by the end of the year the law on guaranteeing tourist packages, because Romania is currently in a pre-infringement state.
According to the minister, the law could be ready by 1 September 2017, so that those who purchase tourist services from an agency can be protected and to be able to have a refund, if the agency goes bankrupt.
In his turn, National Association of Travel Agencies (ANAT) president Alin Burcea said that, after the law will enter force, the money of Romanian tourists will be safe.
