Therme Bucharest posts losses of EUR 4 mln after the first year of operation

One of the biggest European centers of wellness based on thermal water, Therme Bucharest, which opened on January 14, 2016, registered losses of EUR 4 million after the first year of operation and a turnover of EUR 14.1 million.

The revenues were exceeded by expenses amounting to RON 106 million. In 2016, Therme had 427 employees, according to profit.ro.

Therme Bucharest is developed by Wund Group, global leader in the field, that has other four similar projects in Europe. The investment in Therme Bucharest was made by A-HEAT GROUP, based in Vienna, reuniting more companies leaders at global level in industrial energy field.

The first stage of investments was in 2013, when the construction was started, with an allocated sum of EUR 29.64 million. Up to the finalization, the total investment reached EUR 50 million.

Therme Bucharest has an outdoor area of over 250,000 sqm and an indoor area of 30,000 sqm, which can gather 4,000 visitors at the same time. It is split in three areas: The palms (the relaxation area), Elysium (wellness) and Galaxy (family area, with playground).
