Newsroom 01/08/2018 | 07:30

According to the data published by the National Agency for Cadastre and Real Estate Advertising (ANCPI), in the first half of 2018, 300,432 properties were sold, 6.2 percent higher compared with the level recorded in the first half of 2017, due to the growth of over 15% recorded in Q1 2018

For comparison, in the first half of 2017, in Romania were recorded 282,810 such operations.

However, in the second quarter of 2018 there were 151,481 sales of real estate properties, which represents a decrease of 1.3 percent compared with the same period last year.

Given the current conditions of the market, it is possible that the volume of transaction to decrease in the next months as well.

In the first six months of the year, most of the sale-purchase transactions have been carried out in Bucharest (40,957 transactions), the capital city being followed by Timis (with 18,823 contracts), Ilfov (18,645), Cluj (18,452 purchases), Brasov (14,507), Iasi (13,675) and Constanta (12,905).

It is worth mentioning here that the Cluj county, which last year ranked second in the rankings of the counties with the most transactions, was surpassed by both Timis and Ilfov in 2018.

At the opposite pole, the counties with the weakest trading activity, with less than 2,500 sales recorded in the last six months are: Gorj (1,678), Covasna (2,084), Salaj (2,150), Tulcea (2,284) and Olt (2,300).
