The Chamber of Deputies voted almost unanimously the draft law for another free day for Romanians. The day is November 30, when the Orthodox Church celebrates St. Andrew, the saint who brought the Christian faith to the country.
According to MP Petru Calin (PDL), quoted by Mediafax, in case employers in the private sector will not be able to provide November 30 as a free day, they can offer an alternative free day.
This new celebration day is the twelfth free day offered by law inRomania.
Romanians already stay at home on January 1 and 2, have two free days on Easter, on May 1 for Labor Day, another two days for Rusalii (Pentecost – celebrated invariably 50 days after Easter), on August 15 for the celebration of St. Mary, on December 1- the National Day and on December 25 and 26, for Christmas.
