The Bucharest National Airport Company closed 2013 with a brute profit of RON 78 mln, three times the size of the profit that was originally forecast in the institutions budget. Furthermore, CNAB recorded an increase of 10% on its turnover, valued at RON 613 mln in 2013.
According to the company, preliminary revenues rose to RON 643.78 mln, 5% bigger than last year.
Passenger traffic increased with 5.4% in December 2013, the second consecutive month when passenger traffic had an increase of over 5%. In 2013, the two airports in the Capital (Henri Coanda International Airport and Aurel Vlaicu International Airport) serviced 7.649.503 passengers (a 1.35% increase compared to 2012), and the number of landings and take-offs rose to 95.984.
84% of passengers that flew from or to Henri Coanda Airport were travelling to/from a European destination.
34 air carriers are currently operating from airport Otopeni flying to and from 71 destinations. Two new airlines were added in 2013 to the pile, namely easyJet Air and Air Serbia. Starting this year, Ryanair will also operate regular flights from Otopeni.
