Romania’s unemployment rate fell to 4.5 percent in March, the lowest level since statistical data are available, National Institute of Statistics (INS). data showed on Wednesday.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell 0.1 percentage point from February and 0.7 percentage point from March 2017.
The number of unemployed aged 15-74 was 415,173 in March, compared with 418,823 in February and 471,924 in March 2017, according to official data.
The unemployment rate among men exceeds the rate among women by 0.8 percentage point, with 4.9 percent for men and 4.1 percent for women.
The unemployment rate represents the share of unemployed in the active population.
