Romania’s trade deficit increased by 33.1 percent in the first seven months year-on-year, to over EUR 6.824 billion, a statement by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) shows.
Between 1 January – 31 July 2017, FOB exports totaled over EUR 36.101 billion, and CIF imports exceeded EUR 42.925 billion.
“In July 2017 FOB exports amounted to EUR 5,224.5 billion, CIF imports stood at EUR 6,211.3 billion, resulting in an 986.8 million deficit. Compared to July 2016, exports in July 2017 went up by 8.6 percent, and imports increased by 14 percent, INS revealed.
The value of intra-EU 28 trade stood at over EUR 27.398 billion for shipments and EUR 32.562 billion for imports, accounting for 75.9 percent of both total exports and total imports in the first seven months of this year.
Trade outside EU28 stood at EUR 8,703 billion for exports and about EUR 10,363 billion for imports, accounting for 24,1 percent of both total exports and total imports. Cars and transport machinery have the biggest share (47,2 percent on exports and 37,3 percent on imports), and other manufacture products (33.9 percent on exports and 30.8 percent on imports).
