Romania’s trade deficit grew by 46.5 pct in the first five months of 2016

The trade deficit grew by 46.5 percent in the first five months of 2016, reaching EUR 3.76 million, while the imports grew by 8.7 percent and the exports grew by 4.4 percent.

Therefore, Romania imported products during January- May valued at EUR 27 billion and exported EUR 23.2 billion, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In May the exports FOB were worth of EUR 4.7 billion and the CIF imports were EUR 5.6 billion. Compared with the similar period of the last year, the exports from May 2016 grew by 4.1 percent, while the imports increased by 12.2 percent.

The total goods from outside the EU in the mentioned period was EUR 5.63 billion from exports and EUR 5.96 billion, representing 24.2 percent from the total exports and 22.1 percent from the total imports.

The important rates from the exports and imports structure are represented by cars and transport equipments (48.1 percent from exports and 37.6 percent from imports) and other manufacturing products (33.2 percent from exports and 31.3 percent from imports).
