The Romanian Ministry of Health plans to create three centers for screening patients who underwent lung transplant in Bucharest, Cluj and Timisoara, according to state secretary Victor Strâmbu, quoted by Agerpres newswire.
“We wish to perform lung cancer in Romania, but this requires several years of work. A lung transplant requires a team of 26 doctors, thorough infrastructure, operation theaters, intensive care. We plan to create three centers for screening patients after the lung transplant, which already have some trained doctors, while others will undergo training at Vienna via a bilateral agreement with the AKH Clinic. These are lung specialists who will screen patients who had lung transplants across the country. At the beginning, there will be three centers, in Bucharest, Cluj and Timisoara. The rest of the centers will be opened when doctors are trained,” he said.
At the moment, the ministry is conducting an analysis into the price of drugs.
“We are currently leading an analysis into the impact of drug prices. We have last year’s Canamed (the national catalogue of prices for drugs authorized on the Romanian market) of last year, we also have what was registered this year., and in a few days we will see how we stand- what is missing, what has not been filed. We must carry out a rigorous analysis, after which we must conceive a new philosophy about drug policy. I hope in a few days the new Canamed is ready,” he said, quoted by Agerpres newswire.
