Millennials are not willing to give up their personal time in favor of their career, according to a survey conducted by EXACT Business Solutions. They tend to choose careers that allow them to live their lives as they like. 31 percent of them practice hobbies (photography, fishing, hand-made crafts), walk in the park or in nature (52 percent) several times a week.

As they follow the “work as much as necessary/until I finish my tasks” principles, 5 out of 10 millennials manage to engage in sports activities a few times a week, and 4 out of 10 run or walk with their pets.

”Unlike other generations, millennials are very close to their families. As young adults, they continue to seek advice from their parents, both for personal and career-related issues. Almost half of them (45 percent) visit their family and friends even a few times a week,” says Lacramioara Loghin, the managing director of Exact Business Solutions.

For the millennials, free time also means reading a few times a week (48 percent), playing on a computer or console (47 percent) or going to bars, cafes, restaurants (32 percent). Shopping (clothing, cosmetics, gadgets, etc.) is another way of spending free time for 5 out of 10 millennials.

Millennials also often engage in shopping for food or cleaning products, as 7 out of 10 respondents go to the store several times a week to buy household items.

Healthy eating is a must in the life of millennials, as a way of demonstrating to themselves that they are aware of the latest trends related to a healthy life, along with a program that keeps them in good physical health.

Millennials love to travel

Young people between the ages of 18-32 are very eager to travel and explore. 4 out of 10 manage to do this as often as several times a month. Some of them travel to places close to home, which they can enjoy along with family or friends, while others like going to countries that are known for their cultural uniqueness and originality (such as those in Asia). However, they are not very interested in travelling for business, as 54 percent of them had not gone on such a trip in the past six months.

Personal care services are increasingly popular

Personal care is a very important subject for the surveyed group, seen as a form of respect and attention that an individual needs. 35 percent of millennials say they visit a stylist/manicure/massage/spa at least once a month.

Of the leisure activities practiced at a monthly frequency, cinema and clubbing are a notable mention for 3 out of 10 millennials. Theater plays and concerts are not among their favorite monthly activities. Most millennials choose this type of activity biannually, and more of them prefer concerts to going to the theatre.

The research was carried out among 989 people aged 18-32, living in the urban environment, Internet users with a medium and high level of education. They were selected from the Exact Business Solutions panel, containing over 50,000 respondents.
