Romanian exports up by 9.1 pct in 2017 and imports up by 12.3 pct

Romanian exports of merchandises went up by 9.1 percent in 2017 up to EUR 62.64 billion and imports increased by 12.3 percent and the commercial deficit continued to grow, according to the data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In 2016, the exports increased year-on-year by 5.1 percent up to EUR 57.39 billion, while the imports climbed by 7 percent, to EUR 67.34 billion.

As a result of this evolution, the Romanian commercial deficit was EUR 12.96 billion in 2017, an year-on-year growth by 30 percent.

In 2017 the exports amounted to EUR 62.64 billion (an year-on-year increase by 9.1 percent) and the imports reached EUR 75.6 billion ( an increase by 12.3 percent).

The value of intra-EU28 merchandise trades was EUR 47.48 billion for outflows and EUR 57.28 billion for inflows, representing 75.8 percent of the overall exports, as well as from overall imports.

The value of extra-EU28 merchandise trades was EUR 15.16 billion for exports and EUR 18.32 billion for imports, representing 24.2 percent of the overall exports, as well as from the overall imports.
