Romanian company TeamNet performed drone tests for research

Romanian company TeamNet has designed, built and tested in Romania several unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). The company says it has been making research for this project for the past 2 years.

Between June 17 and 21, TeamNet’s Hirrus drones  made the first flights with the aim of collecting data for an academic research project. The data will be used for evaluating the flood potential in a hydrologic basin.

The company will carry out six more missions with the UAV, all of these flights will collect data for research projects, according to TeamNet.

“We have received proposals for using the Hirrus in research projects in agriculture, tourism, environment protection, the prevention of disasters and even archeology. Soon, in Romania but also on other markets, the demand for UAV technology in the private sector will grow, as more and more private clients will see the benefits of using data offered by such unmanned aircrafts,” according to Bogdan Nedelcu, vice-president for strategic projects in TeamNet.

TeamNet’s UAV system includes three UAV Hirrus aircrafts, a ground control station, antennas for reception and emission. The acquisition cost includes also usage training. The system can also be rented or used based on a subscription. The aircraft has 3 hours of autonomy and can reach speeds of more than 110 kilometers per hour at altitudes over 2,500 meters.
