Between January and May 2018, retail business rose compared to the similar period in 2017, both gross series, 6.4% and seasonally adjusted series, with 7.5%, according to data released by INS.
Turnover volume of retail trade, gross series, in the period January-May 2018, compared to the same period in 2017, grew by 6.4 percent due to the increase in sales of products (7.2 percent), sales of food, beverages and tobacco (7 percent) and the retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (4.3 percent).
In the seasonally adjusted series, retail business grew by 7.5% due to the increase in sales of non-food products (8.8 percent), food, beverages and tobacco sales (7.5 percent) and the retail trade of automotive fuel in specialized stores (5.2 percent).
According to INS, the turnover volume of retail trade, gross series, in May 2018 compared to the previous month, increased by 4.1 percent as a whole, as a result of the increase of the trade with retail of automotive fuel in specialized stores (8.3 percent), sales of non-food products (3.4 percent) and sales of food, beverages and tobacco (2.2 percent).
At the same time, in May 2018 compared to May 2017 the retail trade grew by 6.4 percent as a result of the increases in the retail trade of automotive fuel (9.3 percent), sales of non-food products (6.1 percent) and sales of food, beverages and tobacco (4.8 percent).
