Prime minister Viorica Dancila said on Monday that it is “set in stone” that starting July 1 the pension point will go up from RON 1,000 to RON 1,100, and the minimum pension will increase from RON 520 to RON 740.

She added that the government plans to take the pension point up to RON 1,265 in 2019 and RON 1.775 in 2020, and that the pension law aims to bring balance in the same way that the unitary salary law did.

Dancila also said that there are still ongoing discussions over the pension law at the Labour Ministry, and that the law is almost ready, but some more calculations need to be made.

The PM said that the pension law will “categorically” be put up for a vote in the next parliamentary session.
