Telecommunication company Orange Romania generated a turnover growth of 11 percent in the second quarter of the year, compared with the same period of 2016, up to EUR 267 million, due to the mobile services performance and the mobile devices, said this Thursday the company.

“The growth was supported by the performance of mobile services and mobile devices sales, as well as the evolution of convergent services. On June 30, Orange Romania offered mobile and fixed services for 10.08 million clients, maintaining constant the subscribers number, compared with the first quarter of the year,” says the release.

In the second quarter of 2017, the overall internet mobile traffic doubled compared with the same period of 2016 and the 4G traffic increased by four times, maintaining the growth trend from the former quarter.

“On June 30, 2.6 million clients used Orange 4G services, by 65 percent more compared with the second quarter of 2016. This growing tendency is supported by the continuous investments in 4G network, both at technology development level, as well as the coverage expansion,”  says the release.

Also the accelerated sales of 4G smartphones, which registered a growth by 15 percent, contributed to the traffic growth and number of 4G users.
